This release brings the Xbox 360 release's skies, its retuned
explosions and fog, and blood on its character models. There are fixes
from your F3 traces and crash reports too. Community Packs now offers the
three v0.10 Plus HD packs.
The XBLA release
- Skies. Enable Skies on the Xbox 360 (XBLA) page (on by default,
and part of F6) swaps the N64 sky for the release's cube skyboxes and
their drifting cloud layer. Defection's sky and several arenas' were
recorded from the release; the other missions' skies were matched by
picture. The Carrington Institute, Deep Sea, Investigation and the arenas
that show only ceilings keep the game's own sky. - Explosions, smoke, sparks and Crash Site's fog use 4J's tuned values
with the release on. Explosions are shorter, timed to the release's
48-frame fireball, and Crash Site's fog is pushed twice as far back.
With the release off, the N64 values return. - Blood shows on the release's characters. Wounds appear where the shot
landed, in a red that still reads on dark clothes. - The DD shock trooper's visor is see-through glass.
- Chicago's chain-link gate in the alley near the start is back. It was
lying flattened inside the wall. - Kept sunglasses sit on the face. Jon and five other heads drew the
N64 glasses across the release model's forehead. - The Villa intro's dropship: the danger strip above the door no longer
flickers. - The classic guns keep their paint under Level Metal and K7 Sheen: the
black PP9i no longer shines like chrome. - Boot logos: PERFECT DARK shows once instead of twice, and Microsoft
Game Studios is drawn solid brushed silver, as on the Xbox 360.
Community Packs
Parabolee's v0.10 release splits the PD Plus HD pack into three packs, and
the page offers all three, a swipe page each with its cover:
- PD Ultimate Plus HD: the recommended one, for use with the XBLA
models. - XBLA Plus HD.
- PD Forever Plus HD: Howard Phillips' N64-faithful pack, for play
without the XBLA models.
Randomizer
- Robots you shoot down count towards "Eliminate N hostiles", and in a
solo mission's end screen kill count.
Crash fixes
From your crash reports, thank you:
- A Randomizer run crashed when a door hopped it onto a multiplayer arena.
- Switching the XBLA release off with F6 on the Villa could stop the game
with "Unknown GBI opcode". - GE-X's Egyptian crashed as the level ended. GE-X's Facility had its
objects misread for the same reason.
