A performance update since v3.12.0: the work the game did on your
processor for every vertex of every character and room now runs on your
graphics card.
Highlights
- Characters, guns and props are posed and drawn by the graphics card in
every look: N64, XBLA and GoldenEye HD. - Every level's rooms too, from Perfect Dark's own to GoldenEye's HD
levels. - Animated water such as Villa's ocean goes the same way.
- OpenGL and Vulkan alike, and the picture is the same as before.
What it saves
Processor instructions the game's main thread runs each frame, the same
match or mission played before and after:
| v3.12.0 | v3.13.0 | |
|---|---|---|
| GoldenEye Dam, HD look | 82M | 18M |
| Combat Simulator, 80 simulants, XBLA look | 210M | 11M |
| Combat Simulator, 80 simulants, N64 look (OpenGL) | 6.9M | 4.3M |
| Combat Simulator, 80 simulants, N64 look (Vulkan) | 6.9M | 4.0M |
If something looks wrong: Video > GPU Vertex Shading turns it off
and draws the old way. Please press F3 where you saw it.
