GPU decoding and encoding on every platform, effect and text presets you can reuse across projects, and a fix for NVIDIA on Wayland.
- Fixed the black preview on NVIDIA under Wayland — Drift now runs as a native Wayland app instead of falling back to X11
- Video decoding for the preview now uses the GPU on Windows and macOS too, not only Linux, and you can pick the backend from the preview toolbar
- Export can encode on the GPU with NVENC, Quick Sync, AMF, VAAPI or VideoToolbox
- Copy an effect or a whole effect stack between clips, and save your own presets
- Save the look of a title as a text style and reuse or share it
- The subtitle editor follows the playhead, and titles can contain colour emoji
- Save a project as readable JSON and open one back again
- Close a gap on a track, or split just one clip instead of every clip under the playhead
- Window size and panel proportions are remembered between sessions
- A bug button in the header collects the details needed for a good bug report
- Large media imports are faster and use far less memory
Thanks to @CathodeAnode for the NVIDIA Wayland fix and the media-library performance work, and to @jmn8718 for close gap and per-clip split.
