Release candidate for opt-in testing. SQLite changes the on-disk store. Stop Drydock and back up the complete store directory before upgrading from v1.7 or earlier. First startup imports existing JSON data into SQLite. Downgrading requires restoring the intended pre-upgrade JSON snapshot and any separate session file; changes made only in SQLite are not carried back. A fresh v1.8 installation has no pre-upgrade JSON snapshot. Start with a copy of your store and test containers.
This candidate includes all v1.8.0-rc.12 changes and upgrade warnings. It brings the 1.7.1 Dependencies view into 1.8, makes the docs index quick start run as written, fixes translations across all 16 non-English locales, restores Docker builds with the libexpat 2.10.0-r0 pin, and widens the docs layout with a slimmer docs header.
Fixed
- Restore Docker builds on both supported architectures by updating the exact Alpine libexpat pin to
2.10.0-r0; the repository no longer serves2.9.0-r0. - Docs: the quick start on the docs index page now runs as written. It was missing the auth settings and the
/storevolume, so a fresh install stopped at startup. - Dashboard widget titles (Updates Available, Security Overview, Resource Usage, Host Status, Update Breakdown and the stat tiles) and the "Self-update unavailable" badge now show in the selected language in every locale. The German Cancel button, the Korean keyboard shortcuts dialog and log tail sizes, the Russian, Ukrainian and Vietnamese log tail sizes, and a few Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, Polish and Brazilian Portuguese labels were translated too. The Turkish "mature" count reads "olgun" instead of "mevcut".
- Docs site: the docs pages use a wider layout, and the docs header is slimmer, with search and the theme toggle moved into the sidebar. The WUD comparison notes when the competitor numbers were last checked.
- The container list's Dependencies view, dependency badges and notes from 1.7.1 are now in 1.8 too; earlier 1.8 release candidates were missing them, so upgrading from 1.7.1 would have dropped them. The Dependencies toolbar toggle next to Group by stack groups the list into dependency trees with parents first and dependents indented, rows show "Depends on N" and "Required by N" badges plus cycle and missing-dependency markers, the single Update confirmation lists the containers that depend on it, a dependency-group Update All names chain members hidden by the current filter, and the toggle is remembered. The Update column tooltip is also translated again in every non-English locale instead of showing the old English text.
