v1.8.0-rc.12
Full Changelog: v1.8.0-rc.11...v1.8.0-rc.12
[1.8.0-rc.12] - 2026-11-02
Warning
Release candidate for opt-in testing. SQLite changes the on-disk store. Stop Drydock and back up the complete store directory before upgrading from v1.7 or earlier. First startup imports existing JSON data into SQLite. Downgrading requires restoring the intended pre-upgrade JSON snapshot and any separate session file; changes made only in SQLite are not carried back. A fresh v1.8 installation has no pre-upgrade JSON snapshot. Start with a copy of your store and test containers.
This candidate includes all v1.8.0-rc.11 changes and upgrade warnings. It adds light-theme contrast and status badge fixes, an approvals mobile card fix, accessibility structure, UI polish, a lighter metrics read path and browser CI for the website.
Fixed
- Light themes: muted and secondary text (and the neutral status tone) now meet 4.5:1 contrast on every surface in all six families. The notification bell count badge uses a per-theme
--dd-danger-fgforeground instead of white, which measured 2.2:1 on the dark themes. - Approvals: on mobile cards the Image, Version, Scan and Age values render again (a zero-width container query collapsed every card body value in the shared data table). Version shows the tag change, such as
4.38.16 → 4.39.0, instead of truncated image refs, and the Age column no longer clips. - Accessibility: every page now has one
h1(the top-bar page title; container logs keeps its own). Animations and transitions follow the OS reduced-motion setting. The log level, tail and component selects, log search box, appearance sliders and the settings sync switch have accessible names. Icon buttons are 44 px below themdbreakpoint. - UI polish: the filter bar count reads
14/15 scannedinstead of14/15scanned, Hosts shows12/12 runninginstead of repeating the total, the Host and Rule headers line up with their left-aligned cells, System Logs no longer blames filters for an empty list when none are set, the Image Update bucket in Update Breakdown explains itself on hover, security cards drop the empty footer when nothing is fixable or updatable, and the notification count badge stays inside the top bar when it reads9+. - Light themes: status badge text (success, warning, info, danger and the rest) is darkened to meet 4.5:1 on its own tint in all six families. Hues and tints are unchanged, dark themes are unaffected, and the shared tone colours keep their values for icons and fills.
- Light themes: inline status text on its own tint (alerts, banners, tab and detail panels, config notices) now uses the same darkened badge colours, so it meets 4.5:1 like the status badges. Icons and dots keep the tone colour, and a source scan test fails if a new text and tint pair skips the badge colour.
