ClearPDF V5.2 — PDF encryption, book mode, Liquid Glass, and reliability (2.2.0)
ClearPDF V5.2 adds stronger PDF protection and more ways to read and save documents. This release also fixes several issues reported by users of V5.1.
What's new
- Customize Liquid Glass: tune blur, refraction, tint, and more, or choose a preset in Settings → Liquid Glass. (PR #61)
- AES-256 PDF encryption: protect a PDF with AES-256 and set an owner password separately from the password used to open it.
- Book mode and trimmed margins: read one page at a time, or trim wide page margins. Both options are in Settings → Appearance.
- Save a copy: save a PDF opened from another app to a folder you choose, even when you have not edited it.
- Working PDF links: follow links to another page, or open web and email links in their apps.
Issues fixed
- Fixed crashes from glass controls on Android 9 and 10. (#80)
- Fixed saving after organizing, merging, or extracting pages from a PDF. (#89)
- Dragging a placed text annotation no longer pans the page. (#88)
- Fast pinch zoom no longer snaps back to the original size. (#93)
- Reduced memory use when opening very large PDFs.
- Fixed PDF links that did not respond to taps. (#83)
The new reading, saving, and navigation options address requests for page-margin trimming, horizontal book-style reading, and saving PDFs opened from other apps. (#85, #84, #76)
