ClearPDF V4 (app version 2.0.0)
An open-source Android toolkit for reading and annotating PDFs, managing PDF pages, viewing common Office documents, editing XLSX workbooks, and working with images.
Included features
- PDF reading, search, text selection, copy, OCR for image-only pages, highlights, underline and strikethrough, ink, shapes, text notes, signatures, and form filling.
- PDF page organization, merge and split, compression, encryption and decryption, page numbering, watermarks, image export, and text extraction.
- XLSX cell editing and saving. DOC/DOCX and PPT/PPTX files are opened for viewing; annotations can be exported as PDF.
- Image editing and multi-page document scanning.
- Optional LibreOffice-based Office rendering engine.

These GitHub APKs are the FOSS sideload builds. The optional Office engine is downloaded only when requested. See the README for build instructions, compatibility notes, and screenshots.
Scope and network notes
- XLSX cell editing is supported; Word and PowerPoint documents are viewable but their original text layout is not rewritten. Existing text printed into a PDF page is not directly editable; PDF annotations and form fields are supported.
- Office rendering can vary by file and renderer. The optional LibreOffice-based engine can improve rendering for supported Office files.
- Scanning and some image features use Google Play services. The FOSS build uses network access for the optional Office engine download and for the user-entered web address to PDF feature. Documents are processed on-device; ClearPDF does not provide a document-upload service. See PRIVACY.md.
Build note
The release APKs were rebuilt from main on September 27, 2026. The text-selection toolbar's More menu glass rendering fix is included.
