New
- Xcode’s JSON5 project format – Axiom now reads Xcode’s JSON5
project.xcprojalongsideproject.pbxproj, keeps a target’s declared settings apart from the values Xcode evaluates, and asks Xcode for those values only with permission, since the query can resolve packages or write build state. The change coversbuild-performance,/axiom:status,build-optimizer,spm-conflict-resolver,foundation-models-auditorandliquid-glass-auditor. - Xcode project inspection –
xcproject, a new read-only tool, inspects targets, settings, packages and build phases in either project format, and checks capturedxcodebuild -showBuildSettings -jsonoutput against the selected project, target, configuration and SDK. It ships with the other bundled tools, and theaxiom-mcpnpm package includes it as a command-line tool. - Bundled tools in Codex – The native Codex plugin now includes the bundled tools (
xclog, xcsym, xcui, xcprofandxcproject) and a read-only installation check that reports on its skills, hooks, tools and MCP setup. The Codex guide shows how to run it. - Hook diagnostics – Setting
AXIOM_HOOK_DIAGNOSTICS_DIRto a private directory records which Axiom hook ran, how long it took and whether it finished, but never prompts, tool output or credentials. The Codex guide describes when to use it.
Updated
- Black simulator screenshots – Check the simulator’s display state, then its accessibility tree, before blaming the app: a full tree behind black pixels points to the display. The change covers
device-control-refandiphone-duo. - iPhone Duo vertical bar –
iphone-duoadds the bar’s measured width, about 49 pt regardless of its items, and explains that the bar draws a symbol about 1.27× larger than elsewhere, so custom items are sized by the frame you give them rather than by matching point sizes. - iPhone Duo camera direction – Points to the Xcode build when
AVCaptureDeviceDirectionCoordinatorand the other camera-direction types are missing: Xcode 27.2 beta 2 lacks them, so the guidance builds iPhone Duo camera code with Xcode 27.1 beta instead of rewriting it aroundposition. The change coverscamera-capture,camera-capture-refandiphone-duo. - Profiling cleanup – Explains that with Xcode 27.2 beta 2, a native macOS CPU recording by
xcprofcan leave a stopped startup process behind, and has the assistant check afterward for processes the recording owns, leaving others with the same executable alone.
Fixed
- Codex sessions – Startup and sub-agent guidance now has Codex load Axiom’s routers with its own file and terminal tools, keeping the deployment-target and availability checks.
- Codex terminal hints – Hints after terminal commands now reach the model through Codex’s hook protocol and point to the
axiom-fix-buildskill for build failures. - Codex health check –
axiom-health-checknow runs the selected auditors with Codex’s collaboration tools, in batches within its concurrency limit, or one at a time when those aren’t available. - Cursor skill loading – Sub-agents and
/axiom-asknow load a skill by reading itsSKILL.md. - Simulator logs –
xclognow reads logs from the simulator you select, and a launched app’s console output arrives as it’s printed. - Crash symbolication –
xcsymnow symbolicates legacy.crashframes that show only a load address and offset, and leaves an image’s frames unsymbolicated, with a warning, when its dSYM’s UUID or architecture doesn’t match. - CPU profiles –
xcprofnow reads CPU backtraces in the form Xcode 27.2 exports them. - MCP server – In development mode, the server now serves the same skills, catalog and search results as the published package.
Changed
- Documentation – The Codex guide adds steps to update and remove the native plugin.
