New

  • iPhone Duo – The new iphone-duo skill covers Apple’s two-display foldable iPhone: getting an app ready with the iOS 27.0 SDK, the bars that move to the side of the screen, and keeping controls out of the fold, with the APIs announced for iOS 27.1 described from Apple’s talks rather than in code. Duo guidance also reaches these skills and agents:
    • swiftui-layout – Size classes on each display and in each pose
    • swiftui-presentations – How sheets and their toolbars adapt on each display and move clear of the fold
    • uikit-adaptive-layout – Uneven safe-area insets when a bar sits on one side
    • app-composition – Why the outer display can’t open new windows, and how to offer a New Window button only where it works
    • camera-capture and camera-capture-ref – Switching between the two front cameras, and choosing a camera by the direction it faces (announced for iOS 27.1)
    • swiftui-layout-auditor – Flags controls under .ignoresSafeArea() and hand-built toolbar rows
    • resize-auditor – Flags safe-area math that assumes both sides match, hand-built bars, and window requests that can’t report failure
  • Camera controls – camera-capture-ref now covers iOS 27’s lens aperture and exposure priority modes, exposure signals, continuous autofocus tracking, low-light video noise reduction and cinematic video metadata. camera-auditor flags code that sets one of these while its automatic flag is still on, which raises an exception try can’t catch and terminates the app.
  • Navigation bar subtitles – swiftui-toolbars now covers iOS 26’s navigationSubtitle and the .subtitle and .largeSubtitle toolbar placements, with a fallback for earlier releases and compatibility mode. uikit-modernization covers UINavigationItem’s subtitles in string, attributed and custom-view forms, including styling large subtitles with largeAttributedSubtitle, since largeSubtitleTextAttributes has no effect.
  • Xcode 27.0 APIs – Axiom now covers APIs and platform changes that shipped with Xcode 27.0:
    • build-debugging – Xcode 27 ignoring -ld_classic and failing on -ld64, and dependency scans that require unique Clang module names
    • sandbox-and-file-access – macOS 27 denying access to another team’s app and app group containers without a prompt, and the fixes
    • avfoundation-ref – Async audio session activation, the deactivation and resumption notifications that replace InterruptionType, and throwing AVAudioEngine calls (connectNode, playAudio, installAudioTap) that replace the deprecated connect, play() and installTap
    • photo-library-ref – Persistent change history, keyword, rating and caption editing, Apple Reference Images, the root folder collection and background resource uploads
    • screencapturekit and screen-capture – Clip buffering for instant replay, the recording editor, new error codes, and which additions exist on each platform now that ScreenCaptureKit ships on iOS, iPadOS, tvOS and visionOS 27
    • background-assets and background-assets-ref – The languageChange content request, which breaks an exhaustive switch, localized file reads, and async exclusive control, which both the app and its extension must use
    • ui-testing – Driving VoiceOver from a UI test and asserting what it speaks, with XCUIDevice.shared.voiceOverService
    • textkit-ref – Per-edge text block borders, hit-testing transformed text, and grammar checking with UITextChecker
    • metal-migration-ref – Persistent-kernel compute, three-channel texture-buffer formats, texture view minLOD, and tensor float formats under their shipped names, such as .metalFloat8e4m3
    • fundamentals – HealthKit’s heartRateVariabilityRMSSD quantity type

Updated

  • Liquid Glass opt-out – liquid-glass explains that building with Xcode 27 ends the UIDesignRequiresCompatibility opt-out on iOS 27 and the other 27 releases, while apps built with Xcode 26 keep it, so finish adopting the new design before or with that update. liquid-glass-auditor now flags apps that depend on the key.
  • Liquid Glass audits – liquid-glass-auditor recommends glassEffect for glass on iOS and ToolbarSpacer between toolbar items, keeps glass to floating surfaces rather than content, and recognizes glass an app already uses. health-check runs it whenever a project uses glass, blur or visual-effect views, or the compatibility key.
  • Xcode 27.0 release candidate – Updated to follow its SDK and tools:
    • xcode-mcp-setup and xcode-mcp-tools – Tool calls from an agent Xcode hasn’t approved fail with This agent isn't approved to use Xcode's tools yet. even though the tool list loads, and a signed client, or --unsafe-always-allow-all-agents on an isolated machine, ends the repeated approval prompts
    • metrickit-ref – Hitch ratios as Measurement<HitchTimeRatio>, which needs a recompile, and hitch tracking without a scroll-specific metric in the Swift API
    • realitykit and realitykit-ref – Gaussian splats on iOS, macOS and visionOS 27, and cloth without the betas’ experimental-API warnings
    • swift-concurrency-ref and ownership-conventions – The single-resume Continuation, which can’t be resumed from an escaping callback in Xcode 27.0, and two announced Swift 6.4 features that aren’t in Xcode 27.0 (Dictionary.mapKeyedValues and a standard-library FilePath)
