- Ultra quality mode — A new quality selector in settings lets you switch between Balanced and Ultra for studio recordings. Ultra uses higher bitrates for maximum fidelity in detailed UI walkthroughs and code demos.
- Segmented Instant Mode recordings — Instant mode now uploads HLS segments as they're recorded instead of assembling a single MP4. Your link is shareable sooner and viewers can watch a live preview while you're still recording. Now enabled on Windows too.
- Screen capture auto-restart — On macOS, if the screen capture pipeline drops out, it automatically restarts without interrupting your recording.
- Camera reliability — Camera preview now detects stalls and auto-refreshes, restores correctly when reopening Cap or waking from sleep, and always cleans up feeds when recording ends.
- Camera performance — Batched rendering, thread-local decoder caching, and frame reuse make camera preview significantly smoother across both macOS and Windows.
- Click-to-lock window selection — Click a window in the target selector to lock onto it. The camera preview repositions automatically to stay out of the way, and recording controls now anchor relative to your capture target.
- Trim handle flickering — Fixed a rendering glitch when dragging trim handles in the editor.
- Cmd/Ctrl+W to close windows — Standard keyboard shortcut now works to close any Cap window.
- Platform-specific hotkey labels — Settings now show the correct modifier symbols for your OS (⌘ on Mac, Ctrl on Windows).
- Recording stop reliability — Timeouts throughout the stop pipeline prevent hangs when ending a recording. Audio and video now stop concurrently for faster shutdown.
- Exit shutdown guards — All uploads complete and resources clean up before the app fully exits, preventing data loss on quit.
- Camera-only recording fixes — Thumbnails and uploads now work correctly for camera-only recordings.
