Superseded: use 1.4.0-test3. Test2 rejects the new map download destination; extracting it again does not fix that bug.
Lau Setup 1.4.0-test2 — for Andre/player testing
Download LauSetup.zip, extract the whole ZIP, then open LauSetup.exe on Windows or use LauSetup.sh on supported Linux/Wine. One ZIP serves both.
This candidate restores 1.1.7-style handling of other patches: Setup does not parse arbitrary MPQs or clean up renamed duplicates. Files Setup replaces are backed up. Empty Patch-V is backed up; nonempty V stays with a warning.
The Next/Back wizard keeps automatic/manual interface language, case-insensitive game locale detection, and a separate installer-version footer. Patch-Y HD/Non-HD follows the detected client. Consecration, WoW.exe, maps/minimaps, loading screens and HD spell visuals are separate optional choices. EXE and loading screens start off.
The maps option combines Lau's maps/minimaps with Trimitor WDM Classic/TBC dungeon/raid maps and the beta cave expansion, including required WDM/!Astrolabe addons. Maps do not require loading screens or executable replacement. Selected map-support files and active-locale Patch-T are backed up before replacement. Unrelated addons and personal settings stay untouched.
Please test before merge: maps, minimaps, dungeon/raid and cave maps, floor navigation, and compatibility with existing patches/your chosen executable. Cave expansion is upstream beta. Installer/static tests do not prove in-game behavior. Use Setup 1.4.0 or newer to restore these map-addon backups.
Validation: 70 Windows regression groups; final 35-group Windows GUI/safety retest; 35 Wine GUI/safety groups; 100 Windows and 108 normal-user Wine previews; 214 translated strings across ten interface languages; nine localized map archives checked against upstream; all 116 new public payload segments verified by hash. See VALIDATION.json.
