Lau Setup 1.1.6 Hotfix - Switch options with existing disabled Patch-S
Fixes the 1.1.5 message "A different disabled Patch-S already exists" when turning New spell visuals off after an earlier install.
Setup keeps both files automatically. The current S file always becomes .mpq.disabled. If a different older disabled copy is already there, Setup first preserves that older copy as .mpq.disabled.<12-character hash>. An identical saved copy is reused. Both versions are retained. A hash-named copy whose contents do not match the older file being preserved still stops the operation for inspection.
This applies to root and active-locale S files, including the sequence all three flags on -> New spell visuals off, repeated switches and rollback. The map choice is retained.
Download the new EXE or Wine ZIP and retry your selection. You do not need to delete or rename the existing disabled copy to resolve the ordinary collision shown by 1.1.5.
To undo the full install, use Restore previous install. To manually re-enable a saved S file, close WoW and remove .disabled and any following hash, restoring its original .mpq filename. Never overwrite a different active file. Manual changes can stop managed rollback on file drift; keep your backups. Files removed by installers before 1.1.5 still need recovery through their backups.
Game release remains 3.0.8 Lau and every game payload is unchanged. All 90-degree cones, meteor-fire radius and Coldflame are preserved.
Windows and Wine checks include 46 regression groups, all nine locales, existing disabled files, repeated on/off switches, tampered-copy protection, interruption recovery and exact rollback. Fresh public downloads are tested with real On/Off release files and an older disabled copy present. This is installer validation, not new in-game encounter validation.

DBC changes
No DBC edits in Setup 1.1.6. This is an installer-only hotfix; its complete game-asset catalog matches Setup 1.1.4 / game 3.0.8.
For 3.0.7 → 3.0.8, all seven DBC files were byte-identical across six editions (42 comparisons). That update changed cone model geometry, not DBC records or fields.

DBC history since the Andre handoff
The retained 3.0.4–3.0.8 Patch-Y release archives have identical DBC data between consecutive versions; the later visual updates changed models/textures. Installer hotfixes also leave game DBC data unchanged.
Andre intentionally omitted Spell.dbc because of localization conflicts (six other visual/model DBCs were present). The initial Lau addition exposed the language dependency. Lau and Andre debugged it together, and the multilingual rebuild resolved the text compatibility issue.
Lau identifies the development milestones as 3.0.4: initial addition, 3.0.5: multilingual fix, and 3.0.6–3.0.8: hotfixes with version bumps. Retained published artifacts use overlapping early labels: the archived 3.0.4 baseline already includes the multilingual fix. The audit therefore separates development history from exact archive comparisons.
