Lau Setup 1.1.4 · Game release 3.0.8 Lau

All breath and Slime Spray warnings are now 90°

Following Warmane tester confirmation, Halion (both realms), Saviana Ragefire, Sartharion, ICC Rimefang and Rotface Slime Spray now use 90° total cones, matching Sindragosa's existing 90° warning. This applies to all six editions and nine client languages, including the existing normal/heroic spell mappings.

Only cone width changes. Range, animation timing, native spell effects and spell tables are preserved. The approved 50% larger Halion meteor-fire radius, light blue Coldflame, colors and Consecration are unchanged. These are visual warning buffers; server damage and mechanics are unchanged. Uneven terrain can still clip flat cones.

Updating

Download LauSetup.exe or LauSetup-Wine.zip from this release first. Close WoW, select the same client and visuals, then click Install upgrade. Old installers retain their old catalogs. Check /pyversion for 3.0.8 Lau.

Setup verifies actual SHA-256 hashes, so previous releases and even one-byte changes with unchanged size and timestamp are detected. Only exact current files count as already installed. Backups and Restore previous install remain available.

Windows requires .NET Framework 4.8. Wine users extract all four files and run LauSetup.sh as a normal user with the supported existing Wine/Mono prefix. Runtime installers are not bundled.

Validation

See VALIDATION.json for Windows and Wine regression, six-edition upgrades from 3.0.7, repeat detection, one-byte checks, rollback and public-download checks. Geometry checks verify 90° cones, preserved range, valid bounds and triangle winding in every edition. Exactly eleven existing archive members change: five models, their five skins and the version TOC. All other members are byte-identical to 3.0.7.

The width decision follows reported Warmane testing. This release is not an every-encounter or exact server-boundary certification.

Raw Patch-Y MPQs (all six editions)

Lau-Patch-Y-3.0.8-All-Editions.zip contains the exact six released Patch-Y MPQs, edition-selection instructions and per-file SHA-256 checksums. Choose one matching edition; do not install all six. For an existing Lau installation, place the selected MPQ at both root and active-locale Patch-Y locations as described in the included README.

This is Patch-Y only: maps, Q/S/M, the executable and the full client are not included. Use Lau Setup for a first install or a model-setup change. A separate .zip.sha256 asset verifies the ZIP itself.

DBC changes — 3.0.7 → 3.0.8

No DBC edits. All seven DBC files are byte-identical in all six Patch-Y editions (42 comparisons). No records, fields or string values changed. The other 22 catalog assets, including locale Q and shared S assets, are also unchanged.

The 90° cone update changed five .m2 models and their five .skin files, plus the addon version label. Sindragosa was already 90°. Existing DBC bindings, range and animation timing were retained.

See the DBC changelog for the exact model list and future individual DBC edits, and the before/after hash evidence. Client-file parity does not validate server damage boundaries.

DBC history since the Andre handoff

The retained 3.0.4–3.0.8 Patch-Y release archives have identical DBC data between consecutive versions; the later visual updates changed models/textures. Installer hotfixes also leave game DBC data unchanged.

Andre intentionally omitted Spell.dbc because of localization conflicts (six other visual/model DBCs were present). The initial Lau addition exposed the language dependency. Lau and Andre debugged it together, and the multilingual rebuild resolved the text compatibility issue.

Lau identifies the development milestones as 3.0.4: initial addition, 3.0.5: multilingual fix, and 3.0.6–3.0.8: hotfixes with version bumps. Retained published artifacts use overlapping early labels: the archived 3.0.4 baseline already includes the multilingual fix. The audit therefore separates development history from exact archive comparisons.

Individual table/record/field edits, old/new values and baseline evidence · DBC changelog. The historical field audit covers Patch-Y; separate Q/S/map pipelines and experimental builds are not silently attributed to these edits.
