- Auto-hide vertical tabs. Keep the sidebar hidden until you move your mouse to the edge of the window.
- Prevent tabs from widening when audio plays. A new option under Settings → Appearance → Tab bar lets you prevent audio indicators from changing tab widths.
Fixes
- Restored country flag emoji on Windows.
- Fixed a problem that prevented older extensions, including Roomy Bookmarks Toolbar redux and Tab Mix Plus, from loading.
- Fixed an issue where every vertical tab showed the active tab highlight. Only the selected tab is now highlighted.
- The missing options to fade unloaded tabs and grey out their icons have been restored in the Nova and Proton styles.
- Tab close buttons now remain accessible when the vertical sidebar is narrowed.
- Fixed issues where the New Private Tab button made the sidebar too wide or remained visible when disabled.
- Bookmark menu spacing options now apply to the Menu Bar’s Bookmarks dropdown.
- The search engine selector no longer retains rounded corners when square buttons are enabled.
- Fixed an issue where typing into a custom new tab could leave part of the previous address behind.
- Corrected the remaining Firefox references in Waterfox branding, including the “Customize Waterfox Home” button.
- New backup folders are now named Restore Waterfox. Backup folders created previously are still supported.
- Fixed conflicting keyboard shortcuts in the French right click menu.
Improvements
- Improved compatibility with JPEG XL images.
- Restored the standard new tab page layout while keeping recommended stories and sponsored content disabled.

Waterfox 6.7.3 incorporates the security updates covered by Mozilla Foundation Security Advisory 2026-93.
