PS5X360 v0.5.8 - Superseded: use Fix 1

latest release: v0.5.8-fix1

Superseded: startup regression. Download v0.5.8-fix1 instead. Its executable is the exact previous working binary, restored and confirmed to open the library on PS5. This original release is immutable, so its faulty asset could not be replaced.

PS5X360 0.5.8

What's new

  • On-screen keyboard for guest game text requests, operated with the controller.

  • DLC installation from matching STFS packages through the game menu.

  • Glowing green cover outlines and launcher entrance animation.

  • Additional per-game graphics controls, including brightness/gamma adjustments and compatibility presets.

  • Camera motion improvements for Dragon Ball Z for Kinect: estimated left/right hand reach and cursor positions now feed the game's original gesture handling when its hand-image context is unavailable.

  • Better pose confidence checks, hip-relative coordinates and hand diagnostics in the camera page.

  • Added motion selection/confirmation support for the targeted Kinect system message-box interface. This interface compiled successfully but was not exercised in the game test below.

  • Includes the current Vulkan build and its existing UI, DLC installation, controller, keyboard and graphics settings improvements. This update does not establish a new FPS benchmark or universal graphics fix.

Validation and current limits

A 200-second PC test using synthetic joints, with controller autopress disabled, reached the Dragon Ball Z for Kinect main menu and exercised the original hover/slide handlers. The normal release rebuild changes the version identifier only; its camera menu navigation and combat have not yet been validated on PS5. Using a smartphone as Kinect is still in testing; it is not guaranteed to work 100%. Full Kinect depth, speech and general Kinect game compatibility are not supported. The targeted hand fallback applies to title 4E4D084E / executable 8FDD4F4AB147612A only. Camera motion is opt-in per game.

Install / update

  1. Close PS5X360. Extract PPSA50011.zip into /data/homebrew/PPSA50011 on your PS5, maintaining the same layout (avoid a second nested PPSA50011 folder).

  2. Preserve your roms, saves, profiles, settings and logs when updating. Keep each game in its own folder inside assets/roms, or use your configured library locations.

  3. Launch PS5X360 using your existing homebrew setup. This build requires the same homebrew environment as previous builds; older firmware compatibility is not newly certified.

  4. Optional: load PS5X360-AutoLog-v1.0.9-preview.elf through your payload loader for diagnostics. This is the existing AutoLog payload, not a newly modified version.

Camera setup

Extract Kinect-Phone.zip on your PC. From its Kinect-Phone folder, run python server.py --console YOUR_PS5_LAN_IP. Enable the emulator's web settings and Camera motion for the target game, open http://localhost:8780 on the PC, enter the six-character PS5 pairing key, connect and start the camera. A physical smartphone requires the trusted LAN HTTPS setup described in LAN-HTTPS.md. The relay runs on the PC; this is not a standalone phone-to-PS5 Kinect replacement. The game menu uses hand hover and slide-left gestures. Camera depth is estimated.
