This build isn't code-signed yet, so the first run will probably show SmartScreen's "Windows protected your PC".
Click More info, then Run anyway. Updates never show it.To check the download arrived whole, compare its SHA-256 with the one at the end of these notes (PowerShell:
Get-FileHash <file>). These notes aren't signed, so that doesn't prove who built it. The source: https://github.com/BlueHeisenberg/SCSKiller/tree/v1.4.5.Smart App Control (Windows 11) blocks unsigned apps outright, with no Run anyway.
Improved
- On Windows with NVIDIA, Maximum mode no longer adds pipeline pairings the driver already has, so plans and compiles
with it on are much smaller. - The time left on a compile follows the compile's overall speed, so a slow stretch no longer shows hours or days left.
- On Windows, Fortnite's graphics choice is Normal or Performance, both on DirectX 12, and Performance compiles the
shaders Performance mode runs. - The Settings account card shows a short line with a Join for free link when you're signed in and not on the SCSKiller
Patreon. - On Linux, the app runs on .NET 10.0.14, which has the latest security fixes.
- Games with anti-cheat can be added from the server, by store id or exe name, without an app update. SCSKiller takes its
recorder out of them.
Fixed
- Path of Exile and Path of Exile 2 are marked as games with anti-cheat. Enabling the recorder in a game with anti-cheat
is at your own risk, and SCSKiller isn't responsible for bans. - Marvel Rivals, FragPunk, Sword of Justice, NARAKA: BLADEPOINT, THE FINALS, Dark and Darker and Call of Duty are marked
as games with anti-cheat in any copy, also added by hand or from another store, so SCSKiller takes its recorder out of
them. Enabling the recorder in a game with anti-cheat is at your own risk, and SCSKiller isn't responsible for bans. - A game added by hand from an exe outside its Unreal project folder, such as Phantom Blade Zero's
platform\steam\PBZ.exe, gets the game's whole folder, so its shaders are found. Games added that way before move to
it on their own. - The compile leaves out ray tracing shaders the game's root signatures can't bind, so Phantom Blade Zero no longer
reports 25 pipelines the driver refused. - A game played on 1.4.3 since its last compile no longer compiles every pipeline again.
- On Windows, heavy ray tracing pipelines no longer get skipped as GPU driver hangs when the compile runs them on many
threads. - A compile that keeps restarting to free memory through a stretch of heavy pipelines runs it on fewer threads, so it
gets through instead of stalling. - On Windows with NVIDIA, DirectX 12 games no longer crash at start with the recorder on under the newest DirectX
runtime of Windows Insider builds. - On Linux with AMD, games that last ran on Proton Experimental or GE-Proton11-12 compile again instead of stopping with
a Proton prefix error.
