FerrumPix 0.9.6 lets the editor create blank images, adds a startup mode for launching without a file, and finishes the interface translations.
Highlights
- New images: the editor can now create a blank image. New sits next to Print in the editor toolbar (
Ctrl+N) and opens a dialog with presets for photo, screen and paper sizes, free width and height in mm, cm, inches or pixels at 72–600 dpi, and a white, transparent or coloured background. - Start without an image file: a new setting decides what FerrumPix shows when it is opened without a file — the gallery, the viewer with the first image of the startup folder, or the editor with the new-image dialog.
- Translations: fixed the remaining German text across the settings, search and collage dialogs.
New images
- The editor works without a document: an empty state offers New image and Open image instead of a blank workspace.
- Presets cover photo sizes (10×15, 13×18, 20×30 cm and square), screen sizes (Full HD, 4K) and paper sizes (A3, A4, A5, Letter, Legal). Choosing a preset fills width and height; entering your own values releases the preset again.
- A blank image only becomes a file when it is saved, so Save goes straight to Save as… and proposes Untitled. Leaving it unsaved discards it and returns to the gallery instead of the temporary folder; the filmstrip stays hidden while it is open.
Translations
- The checkerboard, list, startup folder, fit behaviour, Immich and performance buttons now follow the selected language, as do the gallery's free-space display and the Immich connection result.
- Button labels written directly into the interface markup were never checked for translations before, which is why parts of the settings page stayed German in 0.9.5 despite being reported as complete.
