This release brings the info panel into the gallery, lets you find photos by keyword, and makes FerrumPix behave like a proper Mac application.

What's new

  • The info panel is now in the gallery too. The same panel you know from the viewer and the editor, showing the selected picture with its shot data, histogram, rating, label and keywords. Select several and it tells you what they have in common, and a rating or a keyword you set there applies to all of them. Its button sits next to full screen, and whether it starts open is a setting.

  • Find pictures by keyword. Click a keyword in the info panel and the gallery shows everything carrying it. Next to the filter there is a new button listing every keyword in use with the number of pictures behind it, several can be picked at once, and one entry clears the selection again.

  • On a Mac it looks and works like a Mac. The window carries the usual title bar with the red, yellow and green buttons, and the shortcuts take Command where a Mac user reaches for it - copy, save, undo, picking a range in the gallery. Combinations the system has claimed for itself are left alone, and the shortcut list in the settings shows the Mac keys.

  • You decide what a double-click in the gallery opens, the viewer or the editor. The Enter key follows the same setting; videos always go to the viewer.

  • Folders on another disk can be worked on. When a folder in your home is only a link to somewhere else, such as a second hard disk, copying, moving, renaming and deleting used to be refused there. A new setting allows it. Looking at and editing those photos was never restricted.

Fixed

  • A keyword keeps the capitals you typed. It used to be forced to lower case, which lost the form that keywords carry in sidecar files and in Immich. Written the way you type it now, while "Berlin" and "berlin" still count as the same word.

  • Smaller things. The right-click menus reach every place they belong again, and stars, heart and colour labels sit directly in them as rows instead of submenus. Tooltips no longer lose their last word. Removing metadata asks first and is offered only where it can actually do something. Collages work with Immich pictures. A handful of labels that had stayed in the wrong language are translated.
