v1.2: A fresh look and built-in setup

Highlights

No more API keys in your docker run. Kino-Swipe now has a first-run setup page. Start the container, open it in your browser, and sign in as your Plex owner or Jellyfin admin. TMDB is optional. A settings cog on the login screen takes you back to /setup any time.

A redesigned interface. Glass-style cards, thumbs up/down swipe stamps and buttons, an animated backdrop with a random neon sign colour each visit, and a new "Swipe, Match, Watch" tagline. Card info (rating, year, runtime) now sits at the top right of the poster, and the cast on the back takes up two compact rows.

Also new

  • Jellyfin matches can sync to your home screen through native Favorites.
  • The login screen only shows the media servers you've set up.
  • Plex login shows a loading state on the button.

Fixes

  • Fixed the Plex login hanging on the empty brick background.
  • Fixed Jellyfin login on Jellyfin 12.
  • Fixed the menu position after ending a session.
  • Fixed Plex Home profile switching not getting a server-scoped token, so restricted profiles now get the right library limits.

Upgrading

Existing setups that use environment variables need no changes. The app treats them as already set up, and env values override the setup page. Keep your /app/data volume mapped, since settings and matches live there.

New installs only need ports and volumes:

docker run -d \
  --name kino-swipe \
  -p 5005:5005 \
  -v ./data:/app/data \
  -v ./static:/app/static \
  --restart unless-stopped \
  bergasha/kino-swipe:latest

Then open http://YOUR_SERVER_IP:5005 to finish setup. Please complete it before exposing the app to the internet, because until a server is connected anyone who can reach the app can open the setup page.

Unraid users: the template has been updated, and every variable is now optional.
