EShot v4.2.2
Capture interface
- Refined Quick Settings and the GIF and video setup panels with a more consistent compact layout, clearer sections, aligned controls, and editable number fields
- Kept the first selection click active when Quick Settings closes, so moving or redrawing a region no longer requires an extra click
- Improved Escape behavior for open capture menus
- Reduced full-screen repainting while moving the crosshair or selection, fixing trails and improving responsiveness on multi-monitor desktops
Performance and recording
- Released capture buffers as soon as they are no longer needed and limited annotation undo history to 200 actions
- Cached eyedropper sampling, delayed repeated settings writes, and deferred audio-device discovery until recording controls are opened
- Avoided composing an unused still image when starting a GIF or video recording
- Made Wayland GIF conversion and Windows system-audio muxing asynchronous, with timeouts, cancellation, and safe video-only fallback
Settings and Linux packaging
- Added an optional setting to remember the Settings window size
- Prevented AUR and other package-managed AppImages under system paths from creating a second user-managed EShot installation
- Kept application-menu integration available for standalone AppImages downloaded by the user
