EShot v4.0.6
This release improves the capture workflow, OCR and settings reliability on Linux and Windows.
Changes
- Added Automatic OCR language selection that uses installed Tesseract packs and script detection when available
- Added a compact, optional capture help panel with selection and shortcut guidance
- Made the Settings window expand to fit translated tab labels instead of showing tab scroll buttons
- Made update checks refresh the tray and Settings update actions immediately
- Shows the configured recording shortcuts in pause, stop and cancel tooltips
- Fixed saving unrelated settings when an unchanged shortcut is unavailable or used by another application
- Restored direct KWin screenshot permission preparation for local KDE Wayland builds, reducing unnecessary fallback capture delays
Linux support is currently tested on KDE Plasma 6 with Wayland. GNOME, Cinnamon and other desktop environments are not supported yet and may not work correctly.
