V5.12.4 is a UI clarity and consistency update, along with the larger workflow improvements introduced throughout the V5.12 series.

Cleaner Insert Subject workflow
- Video 1 is now the authoritative source plate/environment.
- Removed the redundant synthetic Environment Subject.
- Supports optional visual scale + approximate placement guidance.

Visual Height / Scale / Placement
- Use a reference strictly for character scale, or optionally use a rough composite to communicate approximate placement/blocking for a specific Shot.

Improved Background Replacement + Relighting
- Supports green screen, blue screen, neutral backgrounds, existing locations, and rough composites.
- Added an optional Lighting / Integration Reference so a preferred relit still can guide lighting, exposure balance, reflected color, shadows, and foreground/background integration.

Performance + Camera Transfer
- Transfer facial acting, mouth performance, eyeline, gestures, body movement, timing, and/or camera movement from a reference video.
- Dialogue/audio is now completely optional.
- Supports movement/acting-only transfer with no Audio reference or spoken dialogue.

Video Continuation
- Added a guided workflow for continuing directly from the end of an existing video.
- Can preserve subject momentum, screen direction, camera trajectory, framing progression, environment, lighting, and spatial continuity without replaying the end of the source clip.

Simplified Appearance / Wardrobe Continuity
- The Starting look for this Generation is now the clear authoritative appearance choice.
- Create named alternate looks such as Jacket On, Jacket Off, Wet, Injured, Evening Wardrobe, etc.
- New Generations inherit the ending appearance automatically.
- On-camera wardrobe changes can record the resulting appearance for later Shots and Generations without redundantly describing an obvious action twice.
- Look names now use an explicit Rename action and immediately update the appearance selector.
V5.12.4 UI Copy / Context Audit
This release also includes a full pass over labels, helper text, placeholders, and conditional controls so the interface better matches what the user is actually doing.
Notable fixes include:
- Optional Subject source-video controls are hidden when no Videos are configured.
- Picture-reference help now changes appropriately for:
- composition anchors
- storyboard references
- wardrobe references
- environment-state references
- visual scale/placement references
- lighting-integration references
- first/key/last/edited keyframes
- Music and SFX references no longer show voice-only activation options or voice-recording instructions.
- Performance Transfer fields now distinguish between Performance, Camera, and Performance + Camera notes.
- Insert Subject path/blocking instructions were clarified.
- Video Continuation wording now correctly refers to continuing from the final moment of the source Video.
- Workflow-level source Videos no longer show misleading Shot-assignment controls.
- Ref2VA guidance has been updated to reflect the expanded Picture and Video reference roles.
- “Subject placement and action before dialogue” was changed to Opening subject placement / action for dialogue-free scenes.
- Soundscape silence wording now clearly distinguishes scene sound from non-diegetic music.
