Breaking Changes
- AzAPI~>2.12 is now a required provider. Default-enabled telemetry creates an empty Incremental deployment at its subscription, requiring subscription deployment-management permissions that may exceed namespace/resource-group-only permissions. Owner is not specifically required. Configure the intended AzAPI subscription independently of AzureRM, or set enable_telemetry=false. Existing required location also supplies the real telemetry region; no new required root input is added. Expect deployment-history and plan-timestamp updates.
- Previously discarded role-assignment conditions, condition versions, principal types and descriptions are now forwarded. Explicit private-endpoint role-assignment names are honored and can replace an existing assignment. When using a condition, supply condition_version=2.0. Custom lock notes now take effect. Existing role/lock/resource addresses and queue/topic assignment input shapes remain unchanged; reusing an endpoint role-assignment key across multiple endpoints remains unsupported.
- New private endpoint subnet, DNS-zone, ASG and delegated-identity resource-ID validations reject invalid strings. Only namespace is accepted for an explicit subresource/member. Premium-only endpoint creation and Basic/Standard endpoint-ignore behavior are preserved, but inputs are still subject to validation. Omitted member names retain namespace. resource_group_name still accepts a resource group name, not an ARM ID.
- ModTM and telemetry-only root Random requirements are removed with non-destructive removed blocks requesting old telemetry resources be forgotten. A historical-state upgrade was not exercised; back up state and inspect the plan. Terraform>=1.9,<2.0 and AzureRM~>4.14 remain unchanged.
- Examples pin clean Naming0.2.0/legacy Regions0.8.2 and expose enable_telemetry=true for explicit opt-out. The diagnostic example's Event Hubs namespace changes Basic to Standard and enables auto-inflate with maximum throughput2; review its upgrade plan and cost separately from the unchanged Service Bus root defaults.
