Kanto Gear 4.1.1 reduces CPU spikes in the optional Phone / Browser display and refreshes pairing details when the game device's Wi-Fi address changes.
Phone / Browser fixes
- Bound lossless copy detection on flat and repeating backgrounds to avoid excessive encoder work. Image reconstruction remains lossless.
- Cap phone capture at 30 FPS before rendering and readback to reduce device load. Game and controller input retain their normal update rate.
- Handle bursts of valid browser messages without overflowing the bounded receive buffer and disconnecting the viewer.
- Refresh the pairing address, QR code and one-time PIN after an IP change without restarting the game. Old connections and held phone controls are released; reconnect using the new code.
Validation
- 276 automated Lua and browser cases pass; all 339 Lua files compile.
- Streaming and WLAN changes were checked on an AYN Thor with a Samsung S25 Ultra running Brave. A direct-hotspot comparison remained connected for about 95 seconds, with a continuous animation interval at 29.8 FPS.
- The release ZIP differs from the device-tested build only in its manifest version. Two builds produce the same SHA-256; all 218 packaged files are verified.
- Diagnostics are disabled in the release ZIP. No save-data migration is required.
Phone / Browser streaming remains experimental. Wi-Fi delivery delays can still cause stutter or contact timeouts; the direct-hotspot comparison isolated the remaining observed interruptions to the home mesh WLAN path. The exact router/driver interaction was not identified, and this release makes no router-level fix claim.
Project documentation has also been consolidated, and retired separate language-pack sources removed. Active translations remain bundled with Gear.
