Gen 2 naming now belongs on the companion screen
Kanto Gear now mirrors Gen 2's native naming keyboard for player and rival names, Pokémon nicknames, box names, and the other built-in naming flows. Physical controls remain native, while companion-screen touch selects the exact matching letter or action.
Clear in every theme
The keyboard now preserves Gen 2's real upper- and lowercase glyphs while keeping every key readable across classic, matched, inverted, Modern Light, and Modern Dark themes. The case controls are cleaner LOWER / UPPER targets, and the entered name remains legible as well. Gen 1 receives the same theme-safety improvement.
CASE, DEL, and END use Gen 2's real wide targets rather than guessed grid cells. Unsupported replacement naming screens still fall back safely instead of accepting mismatched input.
Confirmed on an AYN Thor in Modern Dark. The general, desktop, Gen 2, German, and Spanish compatibility suites all pass. The optional German and Spanish packs remain unchanged at 0.2.7.
Import kanto_gear-2.5.3.zip over your current Kanto Gear installation. No host update, save migration, or settings reset is required.
