The host APK and Kanto Gear must be used together. Kanto Gear works without Dramatic Shape. If you already use or want Dramatic Shape on Android, use the matching Voxel fork above rather than another Voxel build. It includes the companion-screen battle HUD fix; mismatched versions can leave empty gray or translucent panels on the main display when Kanto Gear moves that HUD to the second screen.
What changed
- Added live display swapping: press Y while both screens are active to exchange the game and Kanto Gear without restarting.
- Added safe screen-loss recovery, including swapping first and then switching the Thor's lower display off and on.
- Reworked the local map to use the host's detailed tile data while retaining the lightweight fallback on older or unsupported maps.
- Added a low-battery warning: the battery fill pulses at 20% or below while discharging.
- Added CAUGHT ICON → ON/OFF. This hides only Kanto Gear's marker, so another mod's caught indicator remains untouched.
- Corrected compact AM/PM clock spacing and map/header centring.
- Updated the matched host to official Gen1Recomp 0.1.75 and the optional Voxel fork to official Dramatic Shape 1.6.2.
Tested
This exact three-file set was installed and tested on an AYN Thor running Android 13: version detection, detailed and centred local map, live Y swap, lower-screen off/on recovery, battles and the optional Stadium renderer. Automated host and mod suites also passed before packaging.
Retroid Pocket 5 support carries forward the community-tested USB-C Dual Screen Add-on routing from the previous release. Other Android dual-display hardware, including GammaOS devices, still needs community testing.

Updating
Install the APK over the existing Gen1Recomp Android Test app; do not uninstall first. Then import Kanto-Gear-Mod-1.4.0.zip through MODS → Import mod .zip. If you use Dramatic Shape, replace it with the matching Voxel package from this release set.
This remains an unofficial Android public test release. Keep an exported save backup. No ROM, ROM-extracted asset or game data is included.
