Fixes for the first reports, automatic updates, and a few improvements. Install it over 1.0.0 (same signing key): your saves and game data stay. This is the last update you install by hand: from 1.0.1 on, the app offers new versions itself.

New: automatic updates
When the game starts, the app asks GitHub for the latest version number: one tiny request, only when you're online, and it never delays the game. If there's a newer version, it offers to update now (it closes the game safely, downloads the update, checks it is our signed release, and opens Android's installer) or next time. Nothing about you or your game is sent. It's on by default; turn it off in setup or in About. For this the app now has the internet permission and asks Android once for permission to install updates.
Fixes and improvements
- Setup from XCI/NSP + update + keys no longer stops with "Could not create romfs.fifo" when the game data goes to the SD card or to a folder you picked. If 1.0.0 failed for you there, update and run setup again.
- "The game is running. Close it first" no longer appears when the game isn't running. When the game really is still running in the background, the affected buttons say so and offer Close the game: it waits for an in-progress save, closes the game properly and then continues with what you chose.
- The game pauses, with its sound, while it's in the background or the recent-apps screen is open. On dual-screen devices, using the other screen doesn't pause it.
- Graphics driver: Turnip drivers can be picked as the
.zipthey're distributed in (AdrenoTools format), not only as a.so. - Second screen (AYN Thor, Retroid Pocket Duo): the game always opens on the main screen, with the companion on the second one, even when started from the second screen. The controller keeps working after you touch the companion or an overlay on the second screen (such as AYN's performance overlay). Fused materials have their in-game names ("Armor Shard" instead of "Obj Armor Spike B"), in every language.
- Second-screen art is no longer prepared on devices with one screen. On dual-screen devices that don't have it yet, Start game offers to prepare it (about 15 seconds).
- Setup stopped now has a Share details button: it sends the error and the setup logs as text (no game files or keys) through any app you choose, for bug reports. Setup errors also show the real reason.
- Setup time estimates match measured runs: about 2–3 minutes from decrypted files, about 15 minutes from containers (plus copy time to an SD card).
Tested
- AYN Odin 3 (Android 15), with SELinux enforcing for apps: setup from decrypted files and from containers into a folder on internal storage and to the SD card; gameplay; pause in recents, on Home and with the notification shade; save export/import; Close the game.
- AYN Thor (Android 13): container setup to the SD card; game on the top screen when started from the bottom one; controller after touching the companion and AYN's performance overlay; second-screen names; Home pauses the game, using the second screen doesn't; Close the game during an in-game save and after Android had frozen the background game.
- Retroid Pocket Duo (Android 16): fresh setup; game on the top screen when started from the bottom one; second-screen art offer; driver zip import; Share details.
- Automatic updates, with a test server offering a newer test build, on the Odin 3 and the Thor: no offer when up to date or when the server can't be reached; update now and next time; a real in-game save before updating; Android installer confirmation and cancel; a wrong checksum and a wrong signature refused; saves identical before and after the update.
Known issues
- The updraft and Tulin's wind effect can show as bright white columns on some devices (#4); being investigated.
