Atomic Chat v2.2.14

🚀 New Features

  • The app now downloads Bonsai models with its own downloader, so model downloads support pause/resume/cancel in the shared panel while the core still installs any missing engine builds as needed.
  • Installing or updating a Foundry Local variant now automatically prepares the accelerators that variant will use immediately after the install finishes.
  • Foundry Local variants on disk appear as their own rows in the Hub's Downloaded list and offer New chat and Delete actions directly.

🔧 Improvements & Fixes

  • Foundry Local: the download card no longer blink-resets — a variant stays marked busy from the click until it is listed at 100% so the UI no longer briefly offers Download again.
  • Foundry Local: install/update buttons show a spinner immediately and keep their size while the core responds, avoiding long periods of a greyed-out button with no progress.
  • Foundry Local: the card layout, action column width and trash slot are stable when switching variants so buttons don't jump and the main action stays aligned.
  • Foundry Local: the accelerators block now follows prepares started elsewhere (reloads/pages) while open, shows Preparing while a prepare is running, and turns busy refusals into live follow-along updates.
  • Foundry Local: loaded models on disk are correctly reported as loaded (composer dot filled) and Stop or model switches stop the host as expected.
  • Foundry Local: several visual polish items — a new Fluent-style mark (blue-to-teal tile) and a four-pane Fluent mark variant — and alignment fixes so accelerator status text sits level with names and action buttons align with variant names.
  • Core pin: the app pins atomic-chat-core 0.18.2 (and earlier 0.18.1); these core updates include fixes such as disabling cuDNN flash attention by default so Phi‑4 and other CUDA variants run on Blackwell GPUs, and a Windows ML progress fix for Core Ultra laptops.
  • Chat commands / tools: model-run commands now know the user's Desktop, Documents and Downloads locations and can reach them on all OSes (Windows paths are passed as full paths), and the app gives helpful hints when the OS refuses access.
  • Windows sandbox: restore directory listing and command output so tools running under the Windows sandbox behave correctly.
  • Videos on Linux: fixed playback and poster capture by serving clips via blob: URLs, avoiding automatic pipeline construction, and only mounting a player when canPlayType says the clip can be decoded.
  • Linux / AppImage media: the AppImage now bundles GStreamer plugins, points GStreamer at an AppImage-specific registry, and allows asset:// media through WebKit so local media plays reliably across distributions.
  • Never build a GStreamer media pipeline on Linux until the player is explicitly requested, preventing background hangs when opening the Video page.
  • Misc UI/stability fixes: layout/resizing glitches, a loader sizing test, and other polish across the Hub and provider pages (10+ small fixes).

⚠️ Breaking Changes

  • None.
