First major feature release since 1.3. New banner design, Save for later queue, batch panel overhaul, and a tiered cache layer that cuts repeat API calls to your provider by an order of magnitude.

New

• Save for later queue. Bookmark torrents from the banner or any batch row and send them in your own time. Persistent across browser restarts.
• Banner redesign. Full torrent titles on a dedicated row, MAGNETAR wordmark lockup, theme toggle and settings cog up top, expand chevron always anchored right.
• Batch panel drawer. Slide-out panel reveals stats (sends all-time, cache hit rate, sites blocked), the saved queue, and recent activity, mirroring the banner's expanded view.
• 25 / 50 / 75 toggle in the batch panel for the maximum number of detected torrents to display per page. Choice persists across sessions.
• Per-row save bookmark in the batch panel. Save without selecting or sending.
• Share and copy magnet actions on every saved row, in both the banner and the batch drawer. Neither removes the torrent from the queue.
• Cache store with three tiers: in-memory LRU, persistent storage, and in-flight promise dedup. Cuts repeat API calls to providers, throttles batch concurrency to four, seeds on successful send, clears on credential change.
• Live theme switching across every surface (banner, batch panel, options, popup, What's New). No page refresh required.
• Review prompt at 200 sends with Rate, Coffee, and Not now options. Once dismissed, never shown again.
• What's New page now paginated across multiple panels with prev / next / skip controls.

Fixes

• Save and Test buttons in the options page now render correctly in light mode (the kill-legacy all: unset rule was wiping the styling).
• Light mode toggles no longer collapse to a thin vertical line.
• Download history rows are now plain text instead of chunky pills.
• Share menu auto-flips above the button when there is no room below, and clamps horizontally if the button is near the screen edge.
• Banner cache pill no longer reflows the row when its state transitions from "Checking" to "Cached".
• Expand chevron stays anchored to the right when the button row wraps.
• Various race conditions in the post-send storage update collapsed into a single read-and-write.

Under the hood

• Manifest V3 on Chromium, Manifest V2 on Firefox, single source tree with feature-detected shims for importScripts, chrome.declarativeNetRequest, and chrome.action vs chrome.browserAction.
• Storage quota handling: persist tier surrenders gracefully on quota exhaustion rather than poisoning subsequent writes.
• Cache flushed automatically when the active mode or its credentials change.

Installation

Chrome, Edge, Opera, Brave: install from the Chrome Web Store once approved, or download magnetar-1_4_9-chrome.zip and load unpacked from the extracted folder.

Firefox: install from Firefox Add-ons once approved, or download magnetar-1_4_9-firefox.zip and load it as a temporary add-on from about:debugging.
