A stability release, with fixes for the problems reported since 0.3.1. Everything here was tested on a real Windows 11 in a virtual machine, on real partitions, or both, unless it says otherwise. Physical PCs have had limited testing, so back up anything you can't lose.
Fixed
- "Invalid Parameter" when making the installer partition. On some PCs every new partition starts offline. hop now brings it online first. Undo after a failed install also removes the partitions it just made, and says so if one is left, instead of saying everything was removed.
- Make room on big drives. If Windows' defrag used all its time, the
$Mft::$BITMAPmove was skipped. It now gets time of its own. - Your own ISO. Your own copy of Omarchy, Arch, CachyOS, Fedora, Ultramarine or Debian is accepted, if it keeps the name its project gave it.
- BitLocker. hop says when BitLocker is encrypting or decrypting C:, and when it's on for a drive that's short of room.
- Make room's record. A damaged record no longer reopens hop at every sign-in. hop says so when it opens, and also tells you if Make room couldn't turn something back on.
- Safer deletes. hop checks which partition
diskparthas selected before deleting with it. - Non-English Windows. Make room's safety task names SYSTEM by its SID, so it registers in any language.
Added
- Omarchy 4.5.0-rc3, from your own ISO named
omarchy-4.5.0-rc3-x86.iso. Its new installer reads a system image from the install media, which hop now keeps where the installer looks. Installs next to Windows were tested in a virtual PC, with and without encryption, but not on real Windows or a physical PC. omarchy.org still offers 4.0.6, which is what hop downloads.
