If you have 0.1.5, the launcher offers this update by itself (or use "Check now" on the Checks and log tab).
Otherwise unzip over the old folder or anywhere new, and run EternalVR.Launcher.exe. Your launcher settings
carry over.
What's new
- bHaptics: the vest's front is no longer mirrored. Your shots now kick on the right of your chest for a
right-handed gun, hits from the left land on the left, and the low-health heartbeat is on the left of your
chest. Thanks to thet0x1n for testing it on a real suit. - Glory kills your way. A new "Glory kills" setting on the Play tab, under Comfort:
- Follow the camera (as before): your view goes with the game's camera through the kill.
- Steady view: you still see the kill up close, but the view only turns when you turn your head, and
you face the same way afterwards. - Fade out: the view goes dark for the kill and comes back when it ends.
- Flat screen: the kill plays on a flat screen in front of you, like a cutscene.
These are new and have not been tried in a headset yet; tell us which one feels best.
- Foveated rendering (experimental, NVIDIA RTX only). A new Play tab setting shades the edges of each eye
at a lower rate, where the lenses blur anyway: about 16% more frames with Balanced on the test rig when the
graphics card is what holds the frame rate back. Off by default; Subtle keeps the most detail, Aggressive
the least. Other cards ignore it.
Known issues
The full list is in
KNOWN-ISSUES. The
game's button prompts still name keyboard keys, and climbing a wall still turns with the stick only (both
being worked on). Please tell us anywhere you get stuck.
