EternalVR v0.1.54 (alpha)
The launcher's Play tab now shows how many new frames the game drew, not only what the headset was fed, and it knows
the Pimax Dream Air on SteamVR.

If you have 0.1.6 or later, the launcher offers this update by itself (or use "Check now" on the Checks and log
tab). Otherwise unzip over the old folder or anywhere new, and run EternalVR.Launcher.exe. Your launcher
settings carry over.
This build was launch-tested on the Steam version (in a level) and the Game Pass version (up to the main menu), on my
test PC with the OpenXR simulator. None of the changes below have been played in a headset yet.
Playing on a lower-end PC? I'd love to hear how it runs:
tell me your card, settings and how it played.
What's new
- The Play tab's frame rate shows the game's own frames. The mod keeps the headset fed at its full refresh rate
even when the game draws fewer new frames, by turning the last frame with your head. The old "Refresh" line only
showed the headset side ("90 Hz, steady"), which read like the game was running at 90. The line is now called
"Frame rate" and leads with the game, for example "game about 42 new frames a second; headset 90 Hz, steady", or
"game kept up" when it did. The game figure is for the time the headset ran at its full rate: if it was held to a
lower rate part of the time the line adds "when not held" ("when not throttled" on SteamVR), and if you played at
more than one refresh rate it says which one the game figure is for. - A session with too little play to measure keeps the last one. If you start the game and quit in the menus, the
Play tab keeps showing the last session with play and says so, for example "(last session with play, today 09:51)". - The launcher knows the Pimax Dream Air when it runs through SteamVR (3840 x 3552 per eye, 72 and 90 Hz, from
Pimax's product page), so the Headset box and the native resolution show it instead of "not in the list". The
Dream Air SE isn't in the list yet.
Known issues
- The weapon wheel sits off to the right in VR (about 20 degrees at the default HUD settings, more with a wide,
far HUD). The game draws it right of center; I'm working on putting it straight ahead while it's open. - Some prompts still show keyboard keys, for example the page arrows on the Rewards tab after a mission
("A 1/2 D"). Point at an arrow and pull the trigger instead. - Sights are lined up on five guns so far; the rest can point a little off. Go by the Aim dot.
- The Precision Bolt's scope sits about 3 degrees off your aim, because the Heavy Cannon is lined up for its
iron sights. - With head aim there's no crosshair or aim mark while the Precision Bolt is zoomed in. Shots go to the middle
of your view. On the Game Pass version head aim may still show the scope's ring. - The gun doesn't sit exactly in your hand on every weapon; some guns sit a little off.
- Parallel Eye Rendering is still highly experimental and off by default. The full list is under "Parallel Eye
Rendering" in KNOWN-ISSUES.
