If you have 0.1.6 or later, the launcher offers this update by itself (or use "Check now" on the Checks and log
tab). Otherwise unzip over the old folder or anywhere new, and run EternalVR.Launcher.exe. Your launcher
settings carry over.
What's new
- Thumb-rest wheel, Weapon by direction: a new Weapon directions... button on the Play tab, under
Thumb-rest picks (only with Weapon by direction), opens a window with the eight stick directions laid out like
the stick. Pick a weapon or None for each. Game's wheel puts back the default (the same layout as the
game's own wheel). Four directions sets the combat shotgun up, heavy cannon right, plasma rifle down and
rocket launcher left, with nothing on the diagonals (so the super shotgun, ballista, chaingun and BFG have no
direction). No more editing launcher.ini by hand. - A direction set to None now goes to its nearest neighbours instead of doing nothing. With weapons on up,
right, down and left only, each one covers a quarter of the circle, so a push that drifts toward a diagonal
still picks the nearest weapon instead of nothing. With all eight set, nothing changes. - Reset to defaults (Advanced tab) now also puts the weapon directions back to the game's wheel. Before, it
kept aweapon_directionsline you had written by hand.
Known issues
- The window and the wider directions were tested on my test PC (with Four directions, a push 30 degrees
above right picked the heavy cannon, where 0.1.42 picked nothing), not yet in a headset.
In game nothing changes unless you use Weapon by direction with a direction set to None. - Parallel Eye Rendering is still highly experimental and off by default. The full list is under "Parallel Eye
Rendering" in KNOWN-ISSUES.
