If you have 0.1.6 or later, the launcher offers this update by itself (or use "Check now" on the Checks and log
tab). Otherwise unzip over the old folder or anywhere new, and run EternalVR.Launcher.exe. Your launcher
settings carry over.
What's new
- Parallel Eye Rendering: the game could crash (an access violation) the first time a map's water was drawn in
the right eye before the left. On my test PC that happened seated, 13 to 45 seconds after the intro cutscene of
Hell on Earth. Fixed. Tested on my test PC with the setup that crashed: 2 crashes in 3 runs before the fix, none in
14 runs after it (5 of which got to the moment that used to crash). Not tried in a headset yet. - The log's 10 s thumb-rest touch line no longer shows huge numbers like 4294967293 after a menu, a pause or a
load (log only).
Known issues
- Parallel Eye Rendering is still highly experimental and off by default: some reflections can show in one eye
only, and it needs more video memory than the normal renderer. The crash fix was only checked on one map. If the
game still crashes with it on, an Export report... right after would help a lot. Nothing changes with it
off. The full list is under "Parallel Eye Rendering" in KNOWN-ISSUES.
