EternalVR v0.1.41 (alpha)
The thumb-rest wheel now copes with thumb rests whose touch sensor flickers, which some Quest controllers do.

named threat; it has flagged the mod's DLL before), and Windows Defender finds nothing.
If you have 0.1.6 or later, the launcher offers this update by itself (or use "Check now" on the Checks and log
tab). Otherwise unzip over the old folder or anywhere new, and run EternalVR.Launcher.exe. Your launcher
settings carry over.
What's new
-
Thumb-rest wheel: on some Quest controllers the thumb rest's touch flickers on and off very fast, too fast to
notice, and the wheel used to wait for a steady touch, so it could miss your thumb or drop out. Now:- a touch counts the moment it starts, unless that thumb is on its own stick or buttons;
- a touch lost for a moment (up to 0.15 s) is forgiven;
- with Touch, then push and While touched, once the wheel is open (or a direction is picked) lifting your
thumb doesn't stop it: the pick ends when the stick goes back to the centre; - lifting your thumb to jump or onto its own stick ends the rest at once. If that happens before the wheel
opens, the pick is cancelled and that stick does nothing until it's back in the centre; - if you lift your thumb into the air and turn straight away with the other stick, the turn can come up to
0.15 s late.
If the rest still misbehaves for you, an Export report... after the session would help a lot; the log now
also counts touches that started with the thumb elsewhere and rests ended early.
Known issues
- Parallel Eye Rendering: some reflections can show in one eye only, and it needs more video memory than the
normal renderer. The full list is under "Parallel Eye Rendering" in KNOWN-ISSUES. - The new thumb-rest handling was tested on my test PC, not yet in a headset. Nothing should look or work
differently with the wheel off (the default). If Quest Link, Air Link, SteamVR or Windows Mixed Reality show
anything new compared to 0.1.40, please tell me.
The full list is in
KNOWN-ISSUES.
