If you have 0.1.6 or later, the launcher offers this update by itself (or use "Check now" on the Checks and log
tab). Otherwise unzip over the old folder or anywhere new, and run EternalVR.Launcher.exe. Your launcher
settings carry over.
What's new
- Depth in cutscenes around you (Cutscene view = Around you, issue #24). Inside cutscenes both eyes were
drawn from the same point, so anything close looked giant. They now get proper depth. When a camera cut turns
the view more than 90 degrees, the new shot starts in front of where you're looking. - New "Arms in cutscenes" setting (Advanced tab). With it off (the default) cutscenes around you keep the
game's own weapon view instead of the VR one; on keeps things as they were before. - Reflections are back. Screen-space reflections were being switched off in VR as a side effect of a TAA
safety setting. Your Reflections setting is used again while the per-eye TAA or DLSS runs (the default). - Less grainy ambient occlusion. Each eye now keeps its own history, so its smoothing could be turned back
on (about 13% less grain on the test PC). - No dash zoom blur. Motion blur was already off in VR; the radial blur when you dash is off now too.
- Smaller in-headset captures. They're compressed now, about 13 MB for a whole capture (both eyes and the HUD
layer) at the usual render size, so a report export usually still fits GitHub's 25 MB attachment limit.
None of these has been seen in a headset yet; all were checked on the test PC. If something looks off, tell me.
Known issues
Parallel Eye Rendering (both eyes rendered at once) is not in this release's launcher yet: it is getting close,
but it still has bugs to fix first.
