If you have 0.1.6 or later, the launcher offers this update by itself (or use "Check now" on the Checks and log
tab). Otherwise unzip over the old folder or anywhere new, and run EternalVR.Launcher.exe. Your launcher
settings carry over.
What's new
- Frame pacing through short streaming stalls. A streaming runtime like Virtual Desktop sometimes pauses
its frame loop for 40 to 100 ms when its encoder or network falls behind. The game used to stop waiting for
the headset after three frames of that and run free, rendering images nobody saw, which piled more work onto
the encoder. It now stays matched to the headset through stalls of up to ten frames (at most 120 ms), and
only runs free when the headset really stops (the dashboard, a lost session). This only matters with
"Matched to the headset" pacing, the default. - No underwater wobble. Under water the game warps the whole picture. It does that the same way in both
eyes, so in a headset it has no depth and looks like wearing someone else's glasses. It is now off in VR, like
the other screen effects. The water's tint and fog stay. - Video memory warning. If a session ran with the game using nearly all the video memory Windows gives it,
the launcher now says so afterwards. Right at that edge, opening a headset menu over the game (like SteamVR's
dashboard) can reset the graphics driver. A lower Texture Pool Size in the game's video settings makes room.
Both changes were also played in a headset over Virtual Desktop.
Known issues
Parallel Eye Rendering (both eyes rendered at once) is not in this release's launcher yet: it is getting close,
but it still has bugs to fix first.
