If you have 0.1.6 or later, the launcher offers this update by itself (or use "Check now" on the Checks and log
tab). Otherwise unzip over the old folder or anywhere new, and run EternalVR.Launcher.exe. Your launcher
settings carry over.
What's new
- Steam Frame recognised. The Play tab now names the Steam Frame and its native panel (2160x2160 per eye), so
Resolution's "Headset native" works with it. Thanks, DamicsITA, for the report. - Video memory warning. After a session, the launcher says if the game used more video memory than your graphics
card had free, and what helps: a lower Resolution, or ray tracing off in the game. Running out of video memory
makes the game stutter and makes the headset runtime throttle it. - Failed starts clean up properly. When a start through the DOOM Eternal Launcher fails, EternalVR now closes
the launchers it opened before it closes the game, so none of them can start another copy in between. - Your launch setting is always put back. If the launcher is closed in the middle of a start, the game's own
launch setting is restored the next time you open it. - Clearer report when the game closes at once. The status line now says whether EternalVR had loaded,
instead of showing a crash code that was not real. This makes exported reports easier to read. - A status line while it waits. The launcher says it is starting the game through the DOOM Eternal Launcher
for as long as that takes (up to 40 seconds).
Known issues
Parallel Eye Rendering (both eyes rendered at once) is not in this release's launcher: it still breaks the picture
in a headset.
