MiSTer Companion v4.5.0 Released

MiSTer Companion v4.5.0 is now available.

This update adds MC-Fusion support to the Flash SD tab, improves HDR handling in MiSTer Settings, and includes several refinements across the app.

Highlights

MC-Fusion Flashing Support

The Flash SD tab now includes MC-Fusion as a new installer option.

MC-Fusion is my MiSTer Companion focused fork of Mr. Fusion. It keeps the original Mr. Fusion installation flow, but adds a few Companion focused extras to make a fresh MiSTer setup easier to use with MiSTer Companion.

MiSTer Companion can automatically download the latest MC-Fusion release and flash it directly to an SD card, so users do not need to manually download the image first.

What MC-Fusion Adds

MC-Fusion includes several extras to make a fresh MiSTer setup smoother:

• Based on the original Mr. Fusion installer
• Adds MiSTer Companion Remote support
• Prepares the Companion Remote daemon automatically on first boot
• Includes the Update All script
• Includes the WiFi setup script
• Enables Samba during first boot
• Adds a custom wallpaper
• Can be used directly from MiSTer Companion as a flashing option

After flashing and booting, MC-Fusion installs MiSTer, expands the SD card, copies the included scripts, prepares Companion Remote, and reboots when finished.

Samba is enabled during the first normal MiSTer boot, but it becomes active after the next reboot.

After setup, connect your MiSTer to the network and open MiSTer Companion on desktop, Android, Switch, or Vita to continue setup and manage your device.

Improved HDR Options

The HDR option in MiSTer Settings Easy Mode has been updated.

Instead of a simple enabled or disabled toggle, HDR now offers clearer options:

• Disabled
• HLG HDR, recommended
• DCI P3 HDR

These options still write the correct hdr values to MiSTer.ini.

Other Changes

• Added version tracking for downloaded MC-Fusion images
• Added update detection for MC-Fusion releases
• Improved Flash SD installer selection
• Improved MiSTer Settings Easy Mode HDR wording
• Minor cleanup and refinements
