What's Changed
This beta improves update selection, browser download handoffs and native desktop integration, adds an Extensions panel, and bundles Aria2 Next 2.8.4 for all six desktop targets.
✨ New Features
- Open Extensions from the sidebar to install Rayburst Connect from the Chrome, Edge or Firefox store, download extension packages, or access connection settings. The centered panel follows the app theme and supports keyboard navigation and reduced motion.
🛠 Improvements
- Simplify update channels to Stable and Beta. Beta checks both channels and selects the newest eligible version; switching channels no longer offers a downgrade. New installations default to the channel of the installed build.
- Default browser-extension downloads to confirmation before starting. Existing download-behavior preferences remain in effect.
- Bundle Aria2 Next 2.8.4, with ordered background disk I/O, transactional recovery checkpoints, improved HTTP response recovery and decoding, and better filenames after redirects.
- Accept hostname patterns in proxy bypass rules, alongside host, IP and CIDR entries.
- Refresh the website's feature, extension and engine presentation, with localized film controls and download information.
🐛 Bug Fixes
- Prevent an older update check from replacing a newer result, and compare versions using SemVer precedence.
- Preserve the original URL when accepting browser downloads instead of starting directly from a redirected endpoint.
- Use native StatusNotifierItem integration for Linux tray activation and menus. Restore the window if tray registration fails or the panel becomes unavailable.
- Add a scoped NVIDIA Wayland explicit-sync workaround, use an opaque window, and report the actual WebKitGTK policy and environment in diagnostics. These changes address rendering failure paths; they do not establish that every GPU or driver issue is resolved.
- Use native WebView2 drag regions for mouse, pen and touch, while keeping controls interactive.
- Avoid reporting an engine termination error when the Windows process has already exited.
- Show a native error dialog when startup initialization fails instead of leaving a hidden process without an explanation.
- Keep the extension download-behavior selector at the standard settings width.
