Breaking Changes
The runtime --dns-resolver=system|async option has been removed. Official builds no longer ship c-ares or advertise Async DNS; ordinary URL transfers now use libcurl's native resolver path.
Summary
Aria2 Next 2.3.2 simplifies DNS handling, removes the c-ares release dependency, and keeps release artifacts aligned with the native resolver path across supported platforms.
Changed
- Removed c-ares from release dependency metadata, CI, Docker build images, release workflows, and release smoke expectations.
- Removed Async DNS feature reporting from
--versionand JSON-RPC version metadata. - Removed manual
CURLOPT_RESOLVEinjection and restored libcurl-owned redirect handling for ordinary URL transfers.
Fixed
- Metadata HEAD probing now falls back to a range probe when servers return HTTP 403, improving compatibility with hosts that reject HEAD requests.
