Disclaimer AdGuard for Windows is not an open-source project. We use Github as an open bug tracker for users to see what developers are working on.

In this beta version, we’ve added a couple of new settings, polished the UI, made the app more accessible, expanded the compatibility list, and fixed bugs related to the migration to v8.0, the filter editor, and localization.

UI

The update check now triggers automatically upon navigating to the Updates section, offering a Try again option if it fails and properly confirming when your filters are current. We’ve relocated Export logs and Logging level under *Support *→ Logs. Furthermore, mouse side-button navigation is now supported, and App management flags potential software conflicts without impacting performance on extensive lists.

Accessibility

We’ve focused on improving accessibility and refining localization across the app. Screen readers can now properly announce disabled settings, toggle labels, and screen status in every section. Keyboard navigation and Escape key handling have also been enhanced. Additionally, we’ve added full right-to-left layout support for Hebrew users, updated localized texts, and corrected numeric formats for Asian languages.

New feature: ClientHello split

We’ve added a setting that gives you more control over connection handling. Specifically, it splits ClientHellos into two fragments. You can find out more about this feature in our Knowledge base.

Filter editor and extensions

We fixed many issues in the filter editor and extensions that affected their proper functioning and caused the app to crash.

Compatibility

A lot of work was done to restore the functionality and, in some cases, broaden compatibility with select platforms and tools, as well as several dozen games and apps. The complete list can be found in the corresponding GitHub repository.

Stability and performance

We increased the app’s stability and performance. Now, startup and sorting in Language-specific ad blocking are faster, and protection restarts smoothly. We fixed crashes that occurred during OS shutdowns and when running out of disk space while exporting logs.
