ARMSX3 1.0.7

What's new:

Games

  • Blades of Time no longer freezes on every launch after the first.

Performance

  • Index buffers upload much faster on ARM. New NEON code cuts the time spent preparing them by up to ten times, which helps the framerate in games like Demon's Souls. By @Whatcookie

Cheats

  • Artemis cheats come from the collection's Android edition. Download Artemis cheats now uses @chidreams Artemis Patch Collection for Android, which they publish for ARMSX3.

Setup

  • Setup works on devices without Google services. Where there is no system folder picker, as on HarmonyOS tablets, choosing a folder opens ARMSX3's own folder browser.

From upstream RPCS3

  • Freezes and crashes fixed in several big games. The RSX now reports how far it has read its command buffer the way a PS3 does, and games time their own work by it. That fixes random freezes in Resistance 2 and the Ratchet & Clank games, LittleBigPlanet's water level crashes, Ridge Racer Unbounded's title screen crash and both Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows games crashing at boot. By @elad335.

  • Gran Turismo 5 draws correctly. Car shadows and windshields no longer go missing, and car windows no longer flash white. With MSAA on, the Indy and NASCAR events draw correctly too. By @Yahfz.

  • Flower draws all of its grass. A single draw of more than 65,536 vertices repeated its first part instead of drawing the rest. By Yahfz.

  • Videos in more games play correctly. Video streams that start without a sequence header, or that reuse their buffers, now decode. By @digant73

  • Music that games play from files no longer ends early. Tracks at 44.1 kHz lost their last 5 to 20 seconds. By @digant73.

  • Online play over RPCN is more reliable. A P2P connection no longer stalls for good when a packet is lost twice, one malformed packet can no longer hang networking, and a timed-out peer no longer keeps a thread spinning. By @RipleyTom.

  • Rendering fixes: a colour write mask that stayed set after a game turned it off, occlusion results read from the wrong query, single-point draws that were skipped, and a blit that could end in a "Dead FIFO" crash. By @kd-11.

  • OpenGL renderer fixes for stencil, polygon offset, depth clears and 16-bit 5551 readbacks. By @kd-11.

  • Save states taken with a folder open load correctly. They used to come back with that folder's contents scrambled. By @Megamouse.

  • Japanese on-screen keyboard suggestions show the right text. By @Megamouse.

  • More fixes: vertex programs that read textures keep their attribute inputs and multithreaded RSX checks the right memory range for generated indices (@kd-11), vertex program analysis runs faster (@Whatcookie), and game data size checks look at the right folder, which Rock Band 2's song import relies on, by @digant73

  • Smaller fixes to texture caching, GPU memory mapping and the home menu, a crash for games run from /app_home/, the right "no microphone" answer for games that look for one, and a little less overhead in games that use raw SPU threads. @by Megamouse.

Other small stability/bug fixes, (PlayStore submission is still in review at the time of this release, around 4 days in).
