Test build. Stable stays beta_65.

Flash it at flasher.wadamesh.com (switch the toggle to Beta), or update on the device if you have "Get test builds (beta)" turned on.

Seeed Wio Tracker L2 owners: update this one from the website over USB, not from the device. Earlier builds looked for the wrong file when updating themselves and would have installed the Heltec V4 firmware. This build fixes that, so on-device updates are safe from here on.

This release is almost entirely @oumike's: 54 of its 61 changes, gathered into one consolidated PR (#517) so they could be reviewed as a whole, including a new board. Thanks also to @aigarslv for the Latvian keyboard and @tmetz1987 for Wardrive 1.2, and to @Buko84, @Danie10, @DenRalle and @Colni777, whose reports drove most of the fixes.

New board: LilyGo T-Deck Pro (experimental)

The T-Deck Pro can now be flashed from the website, marked experimental. By @oumike (#469). The e-paper display, keyboard, touch, radio, GPS, microSD and battery all work, but it has been tested on a single v1.1 unit so far. The screen redraws the way e-paper does rather than updating instantly. Any report helps, including which hardware revision you have.

Wio Tracker L2

  • Self-updates fetch the right firmware. A board's update file is chosen from a per-board table that used to fall back to the Heltec V4 when a board was missing from it. The Wio L2 was missing, and nothing checks that a downloaded image belongs to the board installing it. Every board is now listed explicitly, and a board that is not listed no longer compiles, so this cannot happen quietly again.
  • Backups go to the SD card. The SD path had been left out of this board's build, so they never did before. By @oumike (#499, #501).

ThinkNode M9

  • The jump-to-latest arrow is back in conversations (#490). beta_79 removed it as a touchscreen-only control, but on the M9 it was the quickest way to the newest message.
  • Up and down walk a conversation one message at a time, in order (#492).
  • Scrolling works in message info (#482, #488), the admin log (#483, #494) and discovered contacts (#481, #487), and the text cursor stays inside the field (#474, #479).
  • Navigation shortcuts work from anywhere (#485, #493), the selection cursor is easier to see (#478), System Information and Memory detail can be navigated (#476), purge confirmations keep focus (#477), and a new channel puts the cursor in the message field (#508, #509).
  • The file list shows when each file was written, so the latest crash report is obvious. Requested by @DenRalle (#475, #495).
  • "Lock home to drawer" keeps the Home key on the app drawer when the drawer is your home screen. Requested by @Buko84 (#491, #497).

All by @oumike, most of them from @Buko84's reports.

Fixes for everyone

  • The battery life estimate works after a restart. Samples logged before the clock was set made a normal discharge look flat, so it read "charging / steady". By @oumike, reported by @Danie10 (#480, #498).
  • The lock-screen notification no longer shows a direct message as 64 hops away. By @oumike, reported by @Buko84 (#484, #489).
  • Telemetry polling stops on its own, after 10 requests by default, instead of flooding the mesh until someone notices. By @oumike, reported by @Colni777 (#512).
  • Quick replies can be longer. By @oumike, requested by @Danie10 (#425, #502).
  • A Lua app that clears its screen while showing a map no longer frees the map twice. By @oumike, reported by @tmetz1987 (#511, #513).
  • The About page shows microSD diagnostics, so a card that will not mount says why. By @oumike (#514).
  • The System Information page title is translated again. Its key had been renamed in the generated translation table but not in the language files it is built from, so every build put the old name back.

Keyboards and apps

  • Latvian keyboard layout, and Romanian no longer labels itself as English on the layout button. By @aigarslv (#496).
  • Wardrive 1.2 lets you review a run on the device afterwards. By @tmetz1987 (#510).

Not in this build

An MQTT Observer mode (#518) is written and held back for discussion in #520.
