The new two-column layout, internally dubbed 2c and optimized for wide screens, is now available for foldables, phones held in landscape mode, and tablets. Thank you for your recent suggestions that motivated us to utilize the larger screens of foldables!
- On regular phones, you can enable landscape mode (and with it 2c) in Niagara's feature settings (at the bottom). On larger devices, landscape mode is always enabled.
- On foldables with large inner screens, Niagara Launcher automatically switches to the new layout when unfolding your phone (can be disabled in settings).
We updated our latest Medium post to reflect these changes.
Potential bug: A few users reported that Niagara's layout sometimes shrinks after returning to the home screen from apps that made the screen rotate to landscape mode. We partially fixed this bug, but it seems it can still appear on a handful of devices. If you experience this bug, restarting Niagara Launcher temporarily fixes the bug (Niagara Settings > Advanced > Restart Launcher). Also, please message us in that case and share what phone and Android version you're using to help us find the cause.
