What's Changed
This is largely a bug fix release, fixing all known bugs in the v0.17.X line while we continue working on v0.18.X integration in parallel.

Fix several multi-processing bugs that could cause processes (ffmpeg, go2rtc, nginx) to crash in rare circumstances

Fix bug that could cause logging to silently stop creating new log statements until restart

Fix a bug that could rarely cause the CoreML Object Detector to refuse to use the ANE and instead use the CPU until the next restart

Prevent whitespace typed in email or license key activation fields from being sent in the license activation request

Fix race condition in thumbnail-embed thread that leads to affected events not being included in semantic search
Coming Soon - Frigate v0.18.0-beta1 & Frigate v0.18.0-beta2

Frigate recently released the first Beta for the massive upcoming v0.18 release and we've been hard at work integrating the changes ever since. We'll soon be releasing our own v0.18.0-beta2 including the changes from both v0.18.0-beta1 and the v0.18.0-beta2 release that was just made public earlier this week by Frigate. We wanted to get these bugs in the v0.17.X line fixed first.

We have both added features to Frigate itself, and fixed security issues, that were pushed upstream and accepted by the Frigate developers. These are included in the v0.18 line and we are excited to see them land for all Frigate users, even those not running Fregata.

⚠️ Beta releases are, well, betas. Issues and bugs have already been reported for Frigate's v0.18-beta1. Many things have changed, and not everything works. There is an additional risk that the new code was not merged perfectly and could cause Fregata-specific bugs. Betas are recommended for technical users that can spot bugs and report them.

Fregata's update checker will not notify you of Beta releases, by design. If you are interested in running the Betas, keep an eye on this Releases page or enable notifications by clicking "Watch > Custom > Releases" on this repository to get an immediate email notification from GitHub when new releases are published.
