What's Changed

This release contains all the features and fixes from the previous v0.17.1.X releases.

  • Updated to Frigate v0.17.2 - See the details of Frigate v0.17.2
  • Fix a bug that made live view jsmpeg streams unusable in Fregata, caused by the differences in how mutex locking works in Linux vs macOS. Note: jsmpeg streaming is a fallback for when MSE and WebRTC fail to load, it is not intended to be used always, if it is always being used this is normally the result of a configuration error.
  • Target compilation of all binaries specifically to Apple Silicon, instead of generic ARM64, which should result in a slight performance boost
  • Add Fregata icon to the macOS dock by default for new installs. This is to help users that cannot find the Fregata menu bar icon due to an overfilled menu bar or it hiding behind the screen notch on MacBooks.
  • Add Settings > Show Dock Icon for existing users that wish to display the Fregata dock icon
  • Make clicking the Fregata dock icon show the same menu as clicking the menu bar icon
  • Added the following environment variables to determine which Frigate ports are open to other machines on your LAN:
    • DANGER. USE THESE OPTIONS WITH CAUTION and only on private trusted networks you fully control. More info here in the docs.
    • FREGATA_EXPOSE_INTERNAL_PORT=1 - Exposes Frigate's unauthenticated port 5000 to the LAN
    • FREGATA_EXPOSE_GO2RTC_PORT=1 - Exposes go2rtc's admin port 1984 to the LAN
    • FREGATA_EXPOSE_RTSP_PORT=0 - Disables go2rtc re-streaming to your LAN, exposed by default
