Local firmware mirror; NetFlow sources follow the site selector (v0.31.0)
#193: a RouterOS device of your choosing becomes a package server that
other devices pull from through /system/package/local-update (7.17+), so
a rollout no longer depends on every device reaching MikroTik.
- Firmware -> Package mirror: one mirror for the fleet, optionally one per
site. Setup creates an mtm-mirror login in a group of its own on the
server (built-in read permissions plus ftp: local update lists packages
with read but downloads them as files, which the built-in read group
can't). Sync fetches only the architecture and package combinations the
devices run, once each, checks MikroTik's SHA-256, checks the server's
free space, uploads over SFTP into a folder (never the top level, which
RouterOS installs from on reboot), confirms sizes, and prunes old
versions (1-5 kept, default 3). New releases are fetched automatically
every 6 hours unless turned off. Devices are switched to the mirror, or
back, from the same page. - Rollouts: "Packages from: Local mirror / MikroTik". A mirror device is
upgraded to the newest version the mirror holds every one of its
installed packages for, after a free-space check. Downloads are
confirmed by the files on the device at the recorded size before any
reboot; an incomplete download is removed, since the next reboot would
install a partial set. Devices without a mirror download from MikroTik. - Fleet versions offers a mirror device's newer version even if the device
hasn't asked MikroTik. Polls now record each device's architecture and
installed packages.
Tested on hardware: a CCR2216 as the package server and a wAP ax upgraded
7.24.4 -> 7.24.5 (routeros and wifi-qcom) from it end to end.
#236: Flow Sources & Data Health lists the selected site's exporting
devices, like the charts; its packet and attribution counts are labelled
as collector-wide.
