github 291-Group/LAN-Orangutan v3.3.8

LAN Orangutan v3.3.8 is out, and it is the biggest update yet: it now tells you what everything on your network actually is.

  • Every device gets a type and an icon: phone, printer, TV, router, server and more, worked out from its vendor, its name, and optionally the services it runs.
  • Friendly names for devices that do not answer reverse DNS, including Windows machines (NetBIOS) and anything announcing over mDNS (printers, Chromecast, AirPlay, and so on).
  • Security flags for devices exposing something risky, like Telnet or FTP.
  • It notices when a device changes its IP address, and remembers where it has been.
  • Finds more: IPv6 devices, which most simple scanners skip, plus passive mDNS discovery.
  • A fresh look aligned with our 291 style: a refreshed palette, selectable accent colors, light and dark, and frosted-glass panels.

Plus a community fix/suggestion (Big thanks to @forke24x7).

Self-hosted, single binary. Still just about knowing what is on your network.

docker pull 291group/lan-orangutan
