What's Changed
eth_feeHistorynow returns the suggested priority fee for empty blocks (blocks with no transactions) instead of zero. The reported value equals whateth_maxPriorityFeePerGasreturns at query time.
Consistency across 0G execution clients
Both 0G execution clients (geth and reth) now report the suggested priority fee for empty blocks in eth_feeHistory, keeping eth_feeHistory behavior consistent between the two clients.
- If the fee suggestion cannot be resolved, empty blocks fall back to zero.
- No configuration is required.
Operator notes
- Tools deriving
maxPriorityFeePerGasfromfeeHistory.rewardwill see nonzero values for empty blocks instead of zeros. - Repeated
eth_feeHistorycalls over the same historical range may return different values as the suggestion changes with the chain head.
